Operation Christmas ChildThe Good Shepherd LWML (Lutheran Women's Missionary League) is once again participating in the Operation Christmas Child project, an annual outreach of Samaritan's Purse.

Simple gifts packed in shoe boxes are delivered to hurting choldren around the world. Christian literature in a child's own language is added to the shoebox gifts so children might come to know the true meaning of Christmas.

Right now, while the back-to-school sales are still happening, is a good time to start collecting those simple non-liquid gifts:

•personal hygiene items (wash cloth, toothbrush, comb, mild soap-NO toothpaste)
•toys (stuffed animal, toy car, harmonica, kazoo, doll, ball, yo-yo, jump rope, small game, etc.)
•school supplies ( pencils, pencil sharpener, crayons, chalk, notebook, markers, colored pencils, coloring book)
•misc (socks, flip flops, T-shirt, baseball cap, sunglasses, hair ckips, jewelry, flashlights, batteries)

This is a fantastic way to get involved in the evangelism and discipleship of children all over the world.  More information about collection dates later.
