The COVID-19 situation is changing daily in some instances.

Please check back here often for the latest information regarding Good Shepherd Lutheran Church activities and COVID-19.

9-29-2020 We are starting to hold Sunday worship services this Sunday, October 3rd. Our preschool is also open with limited enrollment. All other campus activities are still suspended.

7-13-2020 Governor Newson discontinued church services. We will livestream our 9:30 Sunday services until we can reopen services.

7-6-2020 We are now holding Sunday services in our sanctuary (see https://gslcms.org/guest for details and times). All other campus activities continue to be suspended.

5-26-2020 The State of California and County of Santa Barbara have issued guidelines for reopening church services. We will be implementing these guidelines and plan to reopen for Sunday services in the next few weeks.

4-9-2020 You may continue to call us with any questions or concerns. Our telephones are answered during office hours (Monday-Thursday, 8am - noon).

4-1-2020 All campus activities continue to be suspended pending lifting of "shelter in place" order.

3-19-2020 All Good Shepherd campus activities are suspended due to the governor's "shelter in place" order effective immediately.

3-16-2020 COVID-19/Coronavirus is on everyone's mind right now and many of our congregants are categorized in the "high risk" group for the virus. The U.S. Government and the Santa Barbara Public Health Department have declared a public health emergency.

Although our gatherings are well below the number (250) of people locally asked to postpone or cancel events, we will practice "social distancing" where practical until the crisis is over.

Our 2020 Lenten Soup Suppers are canceled as the meal seating is close together and we share some serving utensils, containers, etc. during the dinners. Update: Midweek Lenten services are also canceled.

Some of you may have heard of the scheduled date for the memorial service for Joe Harkins (March 21st). The service will not be held in March (due to attendee travel concerns) and has been tentatively rescheduled for May 16th. More information will be provided by email and/or this page as it becomes available.

Thank you!

May the peace of the Lord be with you.
