Leviticus: Shadows of the Savior

Shadows give a lot of information. They tell us something about the shape, the size, and the degree of what we’re looking at. Shadows are also a way to understand much of the Old Testament, especially the first five books of the Old Testament–the Books of Moses–Genesis through Deuteronomy. Hebrews 10:1 says, “The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves.” (NLT) Shadows are a good way to understand the Book of Leviticus, the third book of Moses. For six weeks, we’ll dig deeper into Leviticus and see how the Shadows of the Savior show us the important, amazing, and beautiful gifts God has for us in the Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ.
