Rosa J. Young (1890-1971) of Rosebud, Wilcox County, Alabama is known as the mother of Black Lutheranism in Central Alabama accomplishing extraordinary things for her community and the kingdom of God. She founded and developed 30 elementary schools and 35 Lutheran congregations through Alabama’s Southern region.
